Born in Lisbon. Law degree and postgraduate studies in international commercial law and arbitration at the Faculty of Law, University of Lisbon.

Member of the Portuguese Bar Association since 2000, he joined the firm in 1998. His main areas of practice are employment law, pharmaceutical law, commercial law and international contracts, corporate and M&A, and civil law.He is repeatedly distinguished in the Portuguese rankings of worldwide publications for his activity in the fields of employment law, pharmaceutical law and commercial law.

Under Gonçalo Pinto Ferreira management the Pharmaceutical Law and Life Sciences Department of the firm acts as legal advisor to a number of Portuguese and international clients, including some of the main international pharmaceutical and medical devices manufacturers operating in Portugal, as well as regarding legal innovations in pharmaceutical law, such as pharmacovigilance and pharmaceutical liability, and the developing field of Biotechnology.

He is heavily engaged also in Compliance related matters, notably by being member of Compliance Committees in the Pharmaceutical and Medical Devices field.
