Hendrik Jan specialises in the full range of securities law, accounting law and criminal litigation with an emphasis on financial reporting, market abuse and insider trading issues. He also advises clients on internal measures to improve integrity and compliance. He has extensive experience with leading large investigations and has a strong reputation in this area. Hendrik Jan lectures and publishes regularly on criminal law and corporate integrity matters. Hendrik Jan is a member of the Council of Supervision of the Amsterdam Bar Association and lectures the Postgraduate Corporate Compliance at the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam. He is also deputy justice at the Court of Appeal in Arnhem. Hendrik Jan is co-author of Sdu Commentaar Strafvordering Eindonderzoek 2008/2009. Until April 2007 he was the chief public prosecutor in the special corporate fraud team of the Dutch Prosecution Service. This culminated in his lead role negotiating the Ahold settlement and the successful prosecution of its top management. In his position as chief public prosecutor he cooperated with both the SEC and the US attorney's office of the Southern District of New York.
