Prof. Dr. Daniel N. Erasmus is an International Tax Attorney and US Tax Court Practitioner who is an acclaimed world-wide leader in tax risk management. He advises and defends numerous national and multi-national companies to protect them from the adversarial nature of tax controversies with tax authorities. He has been lead Counsel in various Transfer Pricing controversies throughout Africa in Uganda, Kenya, Rwanda, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Malawi and South Africa. His team have represented more than US$ 3,4bn in tax controversies where, on average, clients have paid out less than 3% of the taxes charges by Revenue Authorities. This reflects a cautious approach in taking on Revenue Authorities in tax controversies where his team believe a client has a high prospect of success. Many of these successes are as a result of his team getting involved in tax controversies at the tax audit stage.
