Victor de Castro Nunes is a senior partner of Lisbon based Baião, Castro & Associados and heads the firm’s corporate, commercial and M&A practice. He has been regularly involved in M&A deals, corporate restructurings, financing, privatizations and equity transactions as well as on civil court litigation, arbitration proceedings and award enforcement. Having graduated from the Faculty of Law of the University of Lisbon in 1990, he started his professional career as in-house counsel at one of Portugal’s leading investment banks and was admitted to the Portuguese Bar in 1993. He has also lectured in tax law and economy law at the Faculty of Law at the University of Lisbon. Victor holds a degree from the Portuguese Catholic University (2006, Master of Law) and from Queen Mary, University of London (1994, LLM). Victor de Castro Nunes was the co-author of the Portuguese chapter of ‘Getting the Deal Through – Mergers & Acquisitions’ (Law Business Research) and is a regular contributor to newsletters and periodicals on legal issues and taxation.
