Professional Details

Ms. Randee Day’s career in shipping spans over 35 years of experience in executive leadership, corporate governance, restructuring and maritime finance.

Ms. Day is the President and CEO of Day & Partners LLC, a maritime consulting practice specializing in advising shipping companies, financial institutions and private equity firms. From 2011 to 2012, the firm acted as co-advisor with Moelis and Company on the successful  $1.4 billion restructuring of General Maritime Corp, one of the world’s largest publicly traded oil tanker companies. She continues to work as a senior maritime advisor to Moelis on select restructuring and advisory assignments.

Additionally, Day & Partners, LLC advises global lending institutions on the restructuring of loans in their shipping portfolio, including the sale of distressed shipping assets. The firm is also currently advising two private equity firms on strategic investments in the maritime and offshore energy sectors.

Ms. Day has a reputation as a leading expert on financial issues and trends facing the maritime industry; she is frequently quoted in publications including Marine Money, Fairplay,Trade Winds, and Lloyd’s list. She has moderated speaking panels at numerous conferences sponsored by Marine Money, WISTA, Deloitte and Capital Link.

In 2010 she served as interim CEO of DHT Holdings Inc., a publicly traded company listed on the NYSE and an owner/operator of 12 crude oil tankers. She has served as a director of the company and as Chair of the Audit Committee since its 2005 IPO. Ms. Day continues to serve as an independent director and as Chair of the Governance Committee.

Prior to her role at DHT, Ms. Day served as Managing Director and Head of Maritime Investment Banking at the Seabury Group, a global advisory and investment banking firm specializing in the transportation sector.

From 1985-2004 Ms. Day held the position of CEO of Day & Partners, Inc., a strategic advisor firm backed by UK investors. Day & Partners, Inc., specialized in complex debt restructuring within the maritime industry and also provided consulting services to banks, shipping clients, and private investors.

Until leaving to begin her own firm in 1984, Ms. Day was the Division Head of JP Morgan’s shipping group in New York where she served as the senior lending officer for all of the bank’s shipping clients in Asia, Europe, and the Americas.

She served as a board member of TBS International Ltd. since 2001 and served as the Chair of the Audit committee and a member of its Governance Committee. From 2008 to 2009, she served as a director of Ocean Rig ASA, Oslo, Norway, an operator of Ultra deep-water oil rigs.

She is also a member of the Connecticut Maritime Association and a past trustee of the Whitby School in Greenwich, CT.

In 2011 Ms. Day co-founded the Delamar Group LLC, a venture capital firm with a unique investment strategy focusing on the correlation between economic freedom and return on investment. Ms. Day serves as a General Partner to the firm.

The firm is currently focused on SME projects in the Republic of Georgia.

Ms. Day is a member of the Board of Directors of the American-Georgian business council, a non-profit entity that works to strengthen business relationship and private American investment in the Republic of Georgia.

Ms. Day holds a bachelor of arts degree from the School of International Relations at the University of Southern California.
