John Ffooks is Senior Partner at John W Ffooks & Co, Francophone Africa’s leading law firm. He lived in Madagascar for almost ten years from 2001, where he founded the fir and has travelled and worked extensively across Francophone Africa. The firm has recently opened an office in Guinea. He is familiar with the specific legal and business cultures across Francophone Africa (including the West African OHADA countries). As well as extensive experience of French-based legal systems, John has the ability to communicate any issues arising simply and clearly to English speaking clients.

John graduated from the University of Cambridge in the UK and qualified as a Solicitor with leading international firm Clifford Chance and was an Associate at a major US firm. As a lawyer, he has particular experience in infrastructure, utility and natural resource investments in the developing world and the financial structures associated with them.
