"Their diverse menu is concentrated on traditional, never-to-be-beaten curries, along with their own signature dishes as well as vegan dishes which is a rarity at an Indian eatery.

"Watching the team work in their five-star hygiene rated open plan kitchen is also a real treat.

Manager Baz told Birmingham Live: "Our food speaks for itself so although it's a nice surprise to win the award, it's really not a surprise to us considering what we do and how we do it.

"Our key ethos has always been to deliver the best Indian food, on time, and piping hot to our customers' doors.

"We are very different to other places in that we have gone down the traditional route, we even hand-grind our own spices. It's an approach that has paid off with our customers and, now, with the awards judges too."

He added: "We were one of the first Indian takeaways to serve the local community, which we've been doing since 1994, and we have built a strong relationship with a lot of the locals.

"I have introduced some new fresh recipes which is only making us stronger and stronger in the community.

"I am incredibly pleased to have met so many clients that come in week in, week out for years. They love the fact that we are here to bring new, fresh recipes along with old favourites."

The award-winning chefs specialise in creating delicious dishes with their distinctive recipes such as dhaba chicken, British railway mutton curry and khodu mangsho.

Judge Osmaan Mahmood was very impressed with the quality and flavour across all dishes on the menu, commenting: "It is the best Indian food I have had in the comfort of my own home."
