In this edition, we explore the increased focus on fraud prevention in 2025 by regulatory bodies around the world. Significant changes include the UK’s new failure-to-prevent-fraud offence, the establishment of the International Anti-Corruption Prosecutorial Taskforce in Europe, and various regulatory and criminal measures in the U.S., such as recent FTO designations, Executive Order 14157, the Geographic Targeting Order, and the DOJ’s heightened focus on white-collar crime. Other highlighted topics include efforts to tackle fraud and white collar crime in Hong Kong, and the role of the Brazilian regulators in the fight for transparency in emerging markets.
