Arc Energy Resources acquires CLG

Posted: 22nd September 2016 08:50

Stonehouse-based Arc Energy Resources has bought CLG Engineering — a neighbouring firm that provides CNC milling and turning services to a number of sectors, including oil and gas, rail and automotive.

Founded in 1979, the latter exports products and special components to more than 10 countries. Arc Energy Resources specialises in the supply of corrosion-resistant weld overlay cladding and the manufacture of specialist fabrications for clients in the oil and gas, nuclear and renewable-energy sectors.

The acquisition follows a record period of trading for Arc Energy Resources — its turnover grew by 14% in 2015, to £6.5 million — alongside investment in new equipment and facilities.

Group managing director Andrew Robinson (pictured) said: “This is a fantastic opportunity for both companies. CLG Engineering’s precision-machining capability perfectly complements our cladding and fabrication offering. The group enables us to offer a ‘one-stop shop’ for all engineering requirements.”
