AlMansoori Specialized Engineering (MSE) signs joint venture agreement with Hilong Group

Innovative leading oilfield services provider AlMansoori Specialized Engineering (MSE), has signed a joint venture agreement with Hilong Group of Companies of China to establish a drill pipe manufacturing plant, internal coating plant and an Oil Country Tubular Goods (OCTG) finishing plant located in ICAD 1, Abu Dhabi.

Hilong Group of Companies is a large Chinese conglomerate specializing in the manufacture of petroleum pipe and specialized equipment for their local and international markets. The group is located in Baoshan Industrial Zone, Shanghai and is well established and foremost manufacturer and supplier of drill pipe, OCTG and coating services in China.

The joint venture is named as AlMansoori Hilong Petroleum Pipe Company.

The facility is currently under construction and is on schedule to commission in December 2008, with production beginning in January 2009. The plants will be equipped with state of the art specialized equipment and production lines. The facility will be the largest drill pipe and OCTG end finishing plant in the region. The company will manufacture drill pipe with an annual capacity of 18,000 metric tonnes (MT), their OCTG end finishing will have an initial capacity of 50,000MT increasing to 100,000MT within 2 years. The company is also installing a coating line to apply internal coating to drill pipe and OCTG and a hard banding line for drill pipe.

The company will provide high quality products to API standards with proprietary internal coating and hard banding to its customers. Being strategically positioned in the Middle East, the company offers delivery and commercial advantages over other global suppliers to its customers in the Middle East and North African regions.
