What are the best gifts to get your employees?
Whether you're celebrating after a profitable quarter, you're saying goodbye to a colleague, or you want to show your appreciation to your employees for their ability to adapt in a challenging environment, there are plenty of gifts you can get that are thoughtful and show you value them.
But before you go out and buy everyone a hamper from Fortnum and Mason, it's important that you work out your budget for buying gifts and how much each occasion merits.
Gift vouchers
Gift vouchers are one of the most popular ways to say thank you and, paired with a handwritten card, will be much appreciated. Choose vouchers that can be used in a variety of places, and this will ensure you’re appealing to most people on your team. Sometimes just receiving some recognition of hard work can be enough.
Pay for a night in
As we embark on another period of lockdown restrictions, why not treat your employees to a takeaway on you. Set the price limit per household and invite your employees to order from their favourite eatery. You can send them a voucher or reimburse them later.
Wholesaler memberships
A membership to a wholesaler like Costco could save your employees an enormous amount of money on bulk household items. Throughout the year this could be a thoughtful – and useful – gift to have, especially during these uncertain times.
Extra time off
Why not give the gift of time to your employees. If the pandemic has taught us anything, it’s that time with loved ones is precious. Give your employees an extra day off or two this year. With the average holiday entitlement set at 28 days including Bank Holidays, they’ll be thrilled with an extra day to spend with family.
Online subscription
We might not need any more excuses to binge on Netflix or Disney+, but buying your employees an annual subscription to a streaming service is not only thoughtful, but generous. As more and more of us are staying at home for the foreseeable future, keeping your staff entertained will help them stay motivated for work.
Spa vouchers
It's been a stressful time for most of us, and what better way to relax, unwind, and let go than heading to a nearby spa for an afternoon of pampering. Massages, facials, and even steam rooms and saunas are a great way to help relieve stress and tension, so receiving surprise spa vouchers will be much appreciated.
