Scheduling Software Provides an Alternative for Businesses Faced with Spreadsheet Stress

Posted: 19th January 2015 11:39

Half of all small businesses are wasting six hours a week dealing with spreadsheet related issues according to a new survey carried out by accounting software company, Intuit. This showed that businesses find spreadsheets annoying and time consuming.

Overreliance on inefficient spreadsheets is distracting business owners from the actual running and developing of their business. Schedule it has sold thousands of licenses throughout the past 12 months for its online and desktop scheduling software and Director Mark Ballance believes the research could explain the surge.

"No small business owner wants to put their time and effort into inefficient spreadsheets," explains Mark. "As a business owner, time management and organisation are essential and spreadsheets aren't the best option. Spending your time on spreadsheets rather than your product or client isn't cost effective."

Mark continues: "As the world we live in becomes increasingly digital, businesses must do or die. Resource scheduling software is a simple step to take, but one that can really streamline the workforce. It generally moves a business away from paper, t-card, or spreadsheet based systems, which were not developed specifically for scheduling."

"That's why businesses of all sizes such as Cisco, Shell, Siemens and L3 Communications are ditching the spreadsheets for our software."
