Holox Wins Most Innovative Security Solutions of the Year
Winner in the Corporate LiveWire Innovation & Excellence Awards 2025
HoloX offers pioneering advanced holography solutions for global security, authentication, visualisation, and branding. With a presence in critical sectors, including government, defence, finance, and premium brand protection, the innovative business offers technology renowned worldwide for its clarity, instant visual verification, and resistance to replication. Their solutions combine scientific ingenuity with industrial scalability, providing a level of transparency that conventional security features cannot match. The company traces its lineage directly to Dennis Gabor, who was awarded the Nobel Prize in Physics in 1971 for inventing the technique of holography. Gabor’s pioneering vision laid the groundwork for HoloX’s volumetric holography – a real-volume, three-dimensional technology that doesn’t rely on illusions or projections but rather depth and physicality.
Counterfeiting costs governments billions each year and, according to the World Health Organisation, contributes to hundreds of thousands of deaths annually through fake medicines. Traditional features are often copied so closely that only experts can discern the difference. However, HoloX has developed a simple but powerful solution that enables anyone to authenticate what they hold instantly, without specialised equipment or training, while making replication virtually impossible. Michel Jacobs, head of strategy and business development at HoloX says “that level of self-authentication has never been possible before and no one else can deliver it at this standard.”
The judging panel was particularly impressed by HoloX’s proprietary volumetric holography, a Nobel Prize-winning physics principle refined into manufacturable technology that delivers a new standard of security and authentication. Unlike foils or printed illusions, these holograms reconstruct light itself into full-colour three-dimensional images that appear to float in space, shifting naturally as the viewer moves. Their multi-dimensional construction cannot be scanned, copied, or recreated digitally, and authenticity is revealed instantly to the human eye without specialised devices. Designed to maintain their clarity and integrity for decades, even in demanding environments, these holograms provide a future-proof solution for securing passports, banknotes, national identity documents, luxury goods, and high-value products.
